Born in Puerto Rico, Daniel Rivera’s passion for storytelling ignited at the age of five when his grandparents gifted him a video camera for Christmas. That simple gift sparked a lifelong journey of creativity, innovation, and a commitment to showcasing talent and telling impactful stories.
Armed with a degree in Business Administration specializing in Information Systems from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico, Daniel channeled his entrepreneurial spirit to launch Danny Entertainment Company. His company wasn’t just about producing videos; it became a platform for schools, small businesses, and aspiring young artists to shine.
At 21, Daniel expanded his creative repertoire by stepping into the music world. His debut album, "Una Nueva Oportunidad" (A New Opportunity), was an independent triumph he wrote, produced, and marketed himself. His follow-up, "Más Allá" (Beyond), landed him on Latin American online radio charts and brought his music to audiences through live performances.
In 2012, Daniel turned his attention to television, creating and hosting "Arriba Juventud) (Go Youth!), a groundbreaking show that gave emerging local artists their first taste of stardom. With his hands on every aspect of production, Daniel learned the art of captivating an audience while giving others a platform to showcase their talents.
His talent for storytelling led him to Telemundo Washington, D.C., in 2014, where he served as a multimedia journalist. Daniel’s in-depth and heartfelt reporting earned him an Emmy® Award for the news feature "Metro a Metro", and a nomination for "Almas en el Olvido" (Forgotten Souls).
In 2018, Daniel joined NBC Universal Telemundo 44, wearing multiple hats as Weather Co-Anchor, Digital Media Producer, and reporter. From live coverage of the World Series to delivering weather updates from his home during the pandemic, Daniel’s adaptability and charisma shone through. His work earned multiple Emmy® Awards, solidifying his reputation as a trusted voice in the industry.
In 2022, Daniel embarked on a new adventure with TelevisaUnivision as Weather Anchor for Noticias Univision Washington D.C. and Noticias Univision 65 in Philadelphia. His Emmy®-winning segment "La ciencia detrás de un pronóstico del tiempo" (The Science Behind a Weather Forecast), showcased his ability to make complex topics accessible and engaging. He also co-executive produced the hurricane preparedness special En El Ojo Del Huracán (In the Eye of the Hurricane), reinforcing his commitment to public safety and education.
Through every chapter of his career, Daniel has remained dedicated to uplifting others, telling compelling stories, and connecting with his audience, and has demonstrated that passion and hard work can transform dreams into reality. Whether he's behind a camera, in front of it, or guiding viewers through breaking news or a stormy forecast, Daniel’s passion and authenticity leave a lasting impact and his work continues to inspire, inform, and striving to make a meaningful impact on the world.
